The Adoption Connection Team has been busy this summer with lots of fundraisers, picnics, and recruitment events.
Kicking off the summer, ACPA spent the day at the Garrison Day Show and Sale, where we raffled off our famous playhouse. Thanks to students at Central Valley High School and Tow-Tegrity, we were able to have the house on site at the event for kids to see.
Next, ACPA invited our families past and present to our annual Appreciation Picnic at Kennywood! Thanks to our many generous donors, we were able to bring our kids in care and families to the park for a day of food, fun, and family!
After Kennywood, our team was in full-swing preparing for our 8th Annual Tee-Off For Kids, which was held in August this year. The weather was perfect for our big fundraiser and our golfers had a great time on the course. What a fun thing to support kids in care simply by playing your favorite sport!
Right after the fair, our recruitment team headed to the Washington and Westmoreland County Fairs to promote the need for foster families and raise awareness of how everyone can help to support youth in foster care. We even had a Foster Care Day for families at the Westmoreland County Fair. Resource families received free entrance to the fair, goodies, lunch, a special visit from the animals, and a magic show. We love making sure our kids in care have this opportunity for normalcy and learning in their communities!
As summer draws to a close, we are excited for it to go out with a bang! ACPA will be hosting a table at the PA Arts & Crafts Labor Day Festival at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds over Labor Day weekend. We had a lot of fun last year, and know that it is sure to be a great event! Come say hi, and learn more about how you can support kids in foster care!
